Kaban Wind Farm

The Kaban Wind Farm is a key renewable energy initiative in the Atherton Tablelands of Far North Queensland, Australia. With 28 turbines reaching 226 meters high, it taps into the region’s strong winds. The project, capable of generating over 460,000 MWh annually, is vital to Queensland’s goal of 50% renewable electricity by 2030. It also includes a significant upgrade of a 320 km transmission line.

This development contributes notably to local economic growth and community benefits. The strategic location was chosen for its windy conditions and proximity to a high-voltage transmission line, emphasising its effectiveness in renewable energy production.
